The children were also busy carving our pumpkin heads with our educators, engaging in hands-on creativity and teamwork. 🎃

Anzac Day Cookie
In the Montessori world, we believe that children learn through authentic life experiences, constructing inner understanding through hands-on exploration and heartfelt connections. This ANZAC Day, we gently guided the children through a theme of “Remembrance, Courage, and Gratitude” with love and respect.
Under soft sunlight, educators invited the children into a circle to listen to stories about ANZAC Day. Using gentle language, we talked about those who worked for peace, and encouraged the children to share their own thoughts. These heartfelt conversations planted seeds of empathy and respect in their young hearts.
Children independently selected red paper, glue, and black pom-poms to create their own poppies. Through this activity, they refined their fine motor skills and focus while also exploring the emotional meaning behind the gesture. This was more than a craft — it was a quiet and thoughtful act of remembrance expressed through their hands.
In our Montessori kitchen space, baking is not just about food — it’s practical life learning. The children explored textures, sounds, and smells as they measured flour, oats, brown sugar, and syrup. They practiced pouring, mixing, pressing, and sharing responsibilities, developing a natural sense of order, independence, and collaboration.
Remembrance is not just about recalling the past — it's about nurturing seeds of love and courage that quietly grow in each child.

Community Library Storytimes
This week, our Kindy children, led by Ms Jin, put on their bright safety vests and walked to the local library for a fun Family Storytime! 🦺👣
The librarian read a story all about shapes—triangles, circles, and squares. The kids listened closely and joined in by making shapes with their hands! 🔺🟦⚪️
After the story, everyone played a lively shape game with blue cards. There was jumping, searching, laughing, and lots of learning along the way! 🎉
A joyful little trip that sparked curiosity, encouraged teamwork, and deepened the children’s love for books and learning. 💛📖

Mr Norman Music Session
This week, the children were excited to participate in a lively and engaging music session with Mr Norman. Using a variety of musical instruments, Mr Norman introduced the children to basic music theory, including note recognition and rhythm patterns. He held up visual aids showing musical notes such as the semibreve, crotchet, and quavers, while inviting the children to follow along using drums and percussion instruments.
Later in the session, the energy turned up as the group sang and danced to the fun and interactive song “The Floor is Lava.” Each child picked an instrument and joined in the joyful movement, exploring beat and tempo through play.

Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter celebration began with teachers guiding families and children to create handmade bunny ear headbands and Easter baskets. Tables were filled with paint, glitter, colourful paper, and craft tools. Children focused on decorating while parents joined in, enjoying quality time together.
With bunny ears on and baskets in hand, the Easter Hunt began! Guided by teachers, children searched the garden for hidden eggs—under mulch, behind leaves—with each discovery bringing joy and excitement.
Inside the eggs were fun surprises like shiny stickers, sweets, and mini chick toys. Children eagerly opened them and shared their excitement with friends and family.

Gardening
Ms Jessica brought out today’s stars — sprouting baby potatoes and a bag of coriander seeds. The children were fascinated as they got to observe the tiny sprouts up close. One by one, they gently touched the potatoes with their fingers and leaned in to smell the coriander seeds. Their faces lit up with curiosity and wonder as they experienced the unique scent and texture of real planting materials for the first time.
